Holbrook-Palmer Park

22 acres of century-old oaks, a rose garden, manicured lawns, and a historic carriage house. The classic Peninsula look, and the park I shoot in most.

Sharon Park

1100 Monte Rosa Dr, Menlo Park, CA 94025

A duck pond ringed by willows and wide lawns up in Sharon Heights. Soft light off the water and plenty of room for kids to roam between frames.

Downtown Menlo Park

Santa Cruz Ave, Menlo Park, CA 94025

Tree-lined sidewalks, storefronts, brick, and cafe tables along Santa Cruz Avenue. A relaxed urban backdrop for headshots and for families who want something other than a lawn.

Nealon Park

800 Middle Ave, Menlo Park, CA 94025

A big open lawn framed by mature trees, quiet on weekend mornings. Easy parking and an easy pace for sessions with toddlers.

Burgess Park

701 Laurel St, Menlo Park, CA 94025

Mature trees and lawns in the center of town, next to the library and civic center. Convenient, shaded, and a short walk from downtown.

Wunderlich Park

4040 Woodside Rd, Woodside, CA 94062

Oak and redwood groves with soft, dappled light and the historic Folger Stable. Natural and a little cinematic for families who love the trees.

Filoli Historic House & Garden

86 Cañada Rd, Woodside, CA 94062

A 654-acre country estate with 16 acres of formal English gardens, reflecting pools, and walls of camellias and roses. Iconic, dramatic, and built for elegant portraits (photography permit required).

Flood Park

215 Bay Rd, Menlo Park, CA 94025

Heritage oaks over broad lawns and picnic groves. Deep shade for midday sessions and warm light filtering through in the late afternoon.

Edgewood Park & Natural Preserve

10 Old Stage Coach Rd, Redwood City, CA 94062

Rolling grassland and oak woodland, known for its spring wildflowers. Bright, open, and big-sky for families who want the hills behind them.

Stulsaft Park

3737 Farm Hill Blvd, Redwood City, CA 94062

42 acres of wooded creekside trails, lawns, and a playground in Farm Hill. Shaded and easy with younger kids.

Foothills Nature Preserve

3300 Page Mill Rd, Los Altos Hills, CA 94022

1,400 acres of oak woodland, grassland, and a quiet 7-acre lake, Boronda Lake, at the center. Open meadows and shaded trails make this a versatile spot for family and portrait sessions any time of year.

Some of these parks require a photography permit. I take care of the application; the permit fee is passed through to you at cost.
