Scope of services

The specifics of each photography session — date, location, duration, and any special requests — are agreed in writing before the shoot. By booking a session you agree to be photographed and consent to the use of those photographs under the terms below.

For private tutoring students under 18, a parent or guardian stays present for the session, in person or on video.

Copyright and usage rights

Bruce J Photography retains copyright of all images taken. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the delivered photographs for personal, non-commercial purposes. Bruce J Photography reserves the right to use any photographs for promotional, advertising, and other professional purposes unless otherwise agreed in writing before the session.

Resale, sublicensing, or commercial use by the client requires a separate written agreement.

Pricing and payment

Pricing for each session or package is stated in writing before booking. Where a deposit is required, the balance is due on or before the session date. Video courses are billed at checkout via Stripe; access is granted immediately after a successful payment, and course purchases are final sale.

Private lessons booked online are paid in full at checkout via Stripe. Bruce emails within 24 hours with two proposed times. If no mutually workable time can be found, the lesson is refunded in full. Purchased lesson hours, single or pack, are valid for one year from the purchase date; unused hours expire after that and are not redeemable or refundable.

Cancellation and rescheduling

You can cancel or reschedule any session free of charge up to 48 hours before the start time. Cancellations within 48 hours are subject to a $40 fee to cover prep and reserved time. Within 24 hours or no-shows are non-refundable.

Weather and outdoor sessions

For outdoor shoots, sessions affected by significant rain, smoke, or unsafe conditions will be rescheduled at no charge. The decision to reschedule is made jointly the morning of the shoot.

Delivery

Edited photographs are typically delivered within 2 weeks of the session via a private online gallery. Turnaround for tight deadlines (events, headshots needed urgently) can usually be accommodated — ask before booking.

Liability

Bruce J Photography's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the session or course in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

Model release

Photo session bookings include a standard model release. The full text is on the model release page. If you have a specific restriction in mind (e.g., no use on social media, no use of minors' images), tell me before the session and I'll honor it.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated occasionally. Bookings made under prior versions of these terms continue under the version in effect at the time of booking.
